Now that it's finally translated into English, I think all Samurai Shodown and SNK fans should play it.
Personally, I don't have much experience with turn-based RPGs, but it was great to learn a lot about the history of Samurai Shodown and see beautiful pixel art throughout the two chapters it contains.

The only really bad thing about the game is its long duration due to the random combats that occur too frequently and some very tedious mazes in the second chapter that you will have to overcome no matter what to reach the next town.

I don't think the combats are anything wonderful either, but we have 6 protagonists with very different statistics and abilities (and even more characters to recruit) that give us different combinations and situations during the campaign.

But I think what's really strong about the game is that being an adaptation of the first titles of the fighting franchise to the RPG genre, it has much more space and time to better tell its stories and even of the characters that were involved. So it's a very strong point for anyone interested in the rest of the SNK universe other than The King of Fighters.
