Cool presentation but the combat is just not good. The whole cycle of waiting for the boss to attack, dodge/parry, and then mash attack completely reactive and not engaging at all. None of the bosses really wow you with anything different or new. Just a slog.

punch out works, and i'll tell you why. punch has different ways to react to your opponents attacking other than just dodging. you can dodge, duck and block, but if you time it right you can hit an opponent while they're attacking. you can also use star punches to break your opponents block. both are reactive but both have a different focus. punch out gives the player options on how to approach the fight. in furi you will always wait, dodge, attack, in that order, every time.
