I'd recommend giving the higher difficulties a chance if you haven't already. Among other things they give enemies new attacks, switch around which attacks you can or can't counter, remix enemy placements, introduce DLC enemies into the base game, add new build options and tiers of loot, give bosses and certain enemies unique status effects, and adjusts the rewards of every mission in the game. I can't think of many games that handle difficulty better than Nioh 2, it's got way more effort put into it in that area than most games do.
