I played this on a save that already beat the main game and, with taking my time looking around the map and catching stuff, I took around 8 hours to finish its story. Said story is cute and, similar to the base game, it's successful in giving the new legendary Pokémon some more personality then past games have.
The new maps a good size and there's some nice new and returning Pokémon to find but unfortunately the DLC is undermined by the core issues from the main game that persist here. Namely the terrible performance, general ugliness, and bugs.
Its fun enough, as is the core content of the base game, but as it adds nothing that really alleviates gameplay issues of the base game and shares its broken state I can't really recommend it. Hopefully part 2 at least adds some post game single player content the base game sorely missed.
