There's lots to be said about this game.

First, the good.
Graphics are amazing. The world looked beautiful, even through the green hue of the night vision camera you can tell that the graphics are top notch, and the optimization on PC is very good.
The soundtrack is also one of the highlights. The first game lacked impact through the OST, but this game definitely improved from the first and had certain tracks that made the experience better.
The mechanics were also improved on the first game, and Outlast already had some stellar gameplay mechanics so that's also a point in favor.

Now, the okay-ish.
Story was... a mixed bag. For one part, I enjoyed the "side" plot that would transition seamlessly from the main plot, but the main story in itself was... weak at best. They only managed to catch my interest in the last third, and by that time I just kind of wanted to finish the game.

Now, the bad.
The encounters this game are just... awful. And maybe some might disagree and say this is just subjective, but the chase sequences and the ones where you had to hide were not fun at all. Bear in mind that I played this in hard mode, yet I was doing chases over and over again because the twists and turns felt really bad to do, and I say that being a mouse and keyboard player... I can't even imagine how it feels on a controller. So yeah... that deducts a lot for me.

Overall, I enjoyed the first game and its DLC more than this one.
