It felt average, unsurprisingly for a modern-day Sonic release, and while it welcomes the classic physics brought over from the OG Mega Drive games nothing remotely stands out aside from the striking visuals. So far, from my hour-long playthrough, the gameplay is a little stale, and the theming of the levels felt lacking and uninspired in comparison to Sonic Mania... which funnily enough reuses previous levels from the games but adds more depth and charm to them.

It's better than Sonic 4 for sure!!
