Dragon Quest II takes the formula of 1 and soups it up. Now you can have a 3 member party. Fights aren't just one on one. The world is much larger. There's more of a semblance of story tying together the places you go do. It's still barebones by today's standards, but this is my favorite of the Erdrick trilogy for reasons I'll explain when I review 3. The end-stretch of the game imo was nowhere near as cheap as people made it out to be and I don't see all the negativity towards this game.

8/10 - Barebones by today's standards, but overall a good time and huge leap from Dragon Quest 1.
