I really enjoyed the Bravely Default games on 3DS. They're like upper echelon experiences imo. However, Bravely Default II just feels so terribly off. I can't put my finger on it, but it felt like all the magic was gone. I do like the card game. It's probably the best tcg side-game in a Square Enix title. The game's also competently made, and my disdain for this game isn't enough to override the fact that it's well made (I can't say the same for Nier: Automata). However, this game felt empty, and it made me feel empty too.

6/10 - Mid and soulless.
