Luckily nobody tried to sell this to me as like, "wow it's a cute pixely metroidvania about pining lesbians" or something. Because that's all 100% true but I wouldn't have taken a second look. Instead I got to hear about Sylvie from a cohost post by Kayin a.k.a. the person who made I Wanna Be The Guy. This means I learned the important things, like "the platforming feels like shit" and "the special abilities are assigned to keyboard buttons in alphabetical order" and that's how I knew this would be the real shit.

We can get all fancy about the incredible power of connecting hearts through art or some shit, but creation is also just play. Messing around with Clickteam programs as a kid, hitting a button to turn off gravity and turn yourself into a lime that bounces off the walls, allowing you to kind of float over obstacles-- that's nonsense, but it's fun. You can find that out and experiment with it a bit. See how the numbers underpinning the computer program react. I'm sure this website is full of the kind of sickos like me who will enjoy this game made by and for us, who think that kicks ass. The game's metaplot is about the game's fictional creators arguing over things like "should coyote time be in this game" and also having crushes on each other. You knew it was going to be about lesbians. You saw the picture on this page showing what the game looks like. This is on itch dot io for fuck sake.

Anyway I think if "one of the buttons throws out a house and you respawn at the most recent house you threw out and you can destroy houses with other houses or pull weird tricks by throwing them onto platforms you can't reach or cycle back through your previous checkpoints by deleting the more recent ones" makes you salivate you could benefit from playing Sylvie Lime. If you're normal then it might not be for you.
