My personal joker moment of 2021 was playing this game.
I am 90% convinced this game's narrative is praised because it came out in 2010 and there wasn't anything like it but now I'm faced with awkward pacing and a lot of plot beats that wanted me to feel emotional but I've seen them a 100 times and it feels more corny that tear jerky. You cant be hitting me with shit like "remember that monster you killed? it was actually a BABY" and expect me to lose my mind. The entire story is being carried by the unbelievably strong backs of Weiss and Kaine, who are genuinely fantastic. Hearing Liam O'Brien talk to me with that smooth, smooth and I Keep Hearing Illidian voice really kept me going.

All of this probably would've been forgivable but it's wrapped in a brutally monotonous gameplay. While people are regularly looked the original release for it's combat, but it's beyond just boring combat (which in this release i guess is Better but it's still really boring, and lacks any really interesting encounters to compensate. Enemy design is really boring too). The progression of this game is a complete drag, with really nothing level design and a bunch of shit that feels like it's designed to waste my time and then yoko taro heads will tell me it's intentional and subversive or some shit.

The miserably boring gameplay takes me out of the story that is the game's main selling point, but I dont really think it's that interesting either way. It's a wash for me fellas

I really liked Weiss tho. Love that guy

i think the story can be good when its not filler but they waste a lot of time making you do fetch quests and the gameplay isnt good enough to support that kind of busy work and repetitive encounters
