It's kind of like roblox where its a massive roulette of garbage with the occasional playable game. What makes this better is that the people who play these games (usually) aren't 7 years old. So even if every game is mediocre to complete shit youre still gonna have a good time just meeting the most insane people at least when I played. Also the source engine is really fucking fun to mess with and the steam workshop just gives you just a shit ton of content to play around with.
