If you want to use a Pikachu on old school Pokémon, then play Yellow. If not, play Red/Green/Blue. I do like the fact that you are able to get all 3 starters. The game is the same as R/G/B, but with the Color improvements you have colors that best represent Pokemon, towns & routes, and health bars that indicate how badly damaged your Pokémon is. I had a full team by the time I got 4 Gym Badges and fought Team Rocket in Saffron City and my Pokémon were pretty under leveled for the next Gym Leaders so I spent most of my time leveling up my team battling wild Pokémon. Gary's strongest Pokémon is level 65 and my team were 57-59 and I was able to win without using any items. This is classic Pokémon so if you want to play this game then it's more than likely you are already a Pokémon fan so regardless of all the missing quality of life features present in new games, this is still one of the best Gameboy/Color games you'll experience. I have the physical cartridge but decided to play on my 3DS for the best screen, rechargeable battery life, and the ability to bring Pokémon from the game to Bank and then to Home.
