It's not the best in the franchise, but it is the game that started it all. For a game from 2001, PW:AA seems ahead of its time with its storytelling through gameplay and effective twists which sheds new light over existing evidence.
Still, as the first entry, some of its pacing doesn't land as well as it could, as these rough edges weren't yet quite sanded off. It's nonetheless a charming experience and the beginning of a great and unforgettable franchise.
