I loved the graphics and the music of this game. That's pretty normal for a Castlevania game, but this is definitely a step up from Circle of the moon in terms of the graphics, boss fights, and more. My biggest complaint would be either the big lack of invincibility frames after getting hit that could make you get hit way more and take insane amounts of damage sometimes, or that it's noticeably easier to get lost and I had no idea what I was doing for a lot of it, but it was still fun. There are a lot of optional boss fights though that are only needed for map completion or exp. Overall a very good game though, and I'd put it above Circle of the Moon and in some ways Dawn of Sorrow, but there were things I did like more about DoS, mostly due to it being a newer game. It is definitely below Aria of Sorrow and Symphony of the Night though, which it has a lot of similarities to.
