When it comes to Mother, you're either a Mother 2 person or a Mother 3 person- Don't even say nothing to me, I know damn well Mother 1 isn't your favorite. Mother 3 is an amazing game and it's heartwrenching, gorgeous, and full of that unmistakable Itoi charm that sets this whole series apart from all other RPGs and quirky RPG deconstructions. I just prefer 2's lighter tone. Mother 3 is melodramatic. Good melodrama, don't get me wrong. It's a sad game and it's effectively sad. But that comes at the expense of the more wholesome adventure experience I, personally, liked more from Mother 2.
