After the Samorost marathon, I decided to move a little away from Amanita Design quests to look at other visual styles. It's funny, but the desire to feel a “cozy” atmosphere did not go away, and I began to delve into my library. You didn’t have to go far, because in one of the dark corners you found a wonderful Papetura. I heard a lot of kind words about this quest, so I couldn’t wait to experience everything first hand.

This story took place in amazing lands. Here, heaven and earth consisted of paper, and everyday life passed carefree and easily. Each creature chose its own cozy corner and set up a home there. The days flew by one after another and no one could even imagine that everything would soon change.

Fire. This word struck terror into any inhabitant of the paper world, because the bright flame brought death to all living things. Cities and villages burned, hundreds of souls fought in terrible agony, and the flames did not even think of stopping. The old-timers had already forgotten about this trouble, but it knocked on the door again. An unknown dark creature invaded these peaceful lands and began to establish its own rules here. It had enchanted dozens of creatures, making them faithful servants, and now evil was moving with confident steps towards the center of the paper world, where a one-of-a-kind star was burning, illuminating the surrounding area.

The main character of our story had no intention of interfering in the events taking place, but after the invasion of the house by an unknown creature, he still had to roll up his sleeves. Having enlisted the help of an unexpected companion, we set off on a great journey across the paper lands to help the residents and bring justice. The well-being of this world will depend only on our correct actions, so we will have to make every effort.

We have a cozy point-&-click quest in a beautiful setting. Our task is to slowly explore the paper world, interact with objects and solve puzzles. Our hero is limited in his actions, so he has to take a cat-like creature as a partner. It will serve as our equipment, a handy tool, and even a slingshot. With the help of our companion, we will be able to disarm traps and even wake up sleepy creatures. There are very few puzzles here and they are all intuitive. There we will fish, here we will dodge predatory vines, and here we will find an approach to the shy pump creature.

The juice of Papetura is in its visual component. This game is actually made entirely of real paper and was made by hand. The magic of computer technology has breathed life into this world, filling it with various points of interest, unusual inhabitants and dim, cold light. In addition to the magical environment, the game has a wonderful soundtrack that immerses you in the gameplay. A feeling of serenity and tranquility is created, and you want to follow the adventures of the main character on the screen endlessly. Despite the short running time, Papetura manages to give the player a full range of impressions and leave pleasant memories.

Papetura is a game from a completely different frame, but still the authors managed to convey the cozy atmosphere of Amanita Design quests. There are wonderful visuals and an excellent soundtrack that you want to listen to endlessly. In an hour of timing, we will have time to visit various corners of the paper world, meet various creatures and see several attractions. In addition, the game has an interesting plot, the ending of which evokes positive impressions. A magical and mesmerizing quest that you will definitely remember.
