Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and its platinum are monstrous.

Jam packed with insane combos and crazy full screen slot machine attract modes, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 deals a swift gut punch to all fighting game nerds and Marvel fanboys. Savage hits, creative teamwork, and many explosions of sensory stimuli, we thank Capcom and politely ask for more.

Competitively, UMvC3 is absolutely bonkers broken. Optimal strategic teams, busted (good + bad) characters, unintended infinites, it is all crazy. Madness, delusion, and hysteria all form to create a very fun fighting game. Most importantly, its ability to position player expression at the forefront of the gameplay makes matches unbelievably hype and meaningful. If money or pride is on the line, expect mad pop offs.

One trophy stands out among the rest and that is Master of Tasks (Clear 480 missions in Mission mode). This single trophy is a big reason why the game is considered a 10/10 difficulty platinum on most trophy guides. To hammer in this point, there are 500 missions in total. If my maths serve me right, that's 96% worth of missions to succeed. Some of them require very precise execution and timing. Without those hard trained skills, this trophy is impossible. Master of Tasks is the definition of a platinum killer.

Unfortunately, the game has a lot of online trophies. This wouldn't normally be much of a problem however the console online matchmaking is a barren wasteland. Literally, no one plays on console anymore. Most players have switched to the PC version due to better netplay thanks to Parsec. Unless you have a very dedicated friend or a second console, the online trophies are practically impossible.

Coming from a veteran fighting game player perspective, the journey of finally achieving this platinum was no joke. This makes Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3's platinum one of the most difficult and impressive to achieve.

Time to frame it on my bedroom wall.
