I feel like as kids, Millennials gaslit us into hating a lot of things that were genuinely great. Bioshock 2 being a prime example of one of them.
The hate this game got back in the day was an absolute force. The only argument people ever had was that the game was too similar to 1 which is stupid because its sequel that also takes place in Rapture lol.
This game improves upon the gameplay of Bioshock 1 in so many ways by making an even better weapon sandbox with more variety as well as quality of life changes like making the hacking mini game less tedious.
I personally like Bioshock 1 more than 2 purely because the story in 1 is so incredible but when anyone says they like 2 more than 1, I can't blame them. It is the best in the entire series in terms of gameplay, hands down.
I beat the whole game last year on the hardest difficulty while also disabling vita-chambers and it still felt like a very fair challenge that was extremely engaging. The only part that completely fucked me for a bit was the twin Big Sister fight but that was mostly my fault.
