love 3 is a good 2d platformer. the premise is that you can make a checkpoint/respawn point anywhere, which is a pretty interesting (and i'd say good) approach to difficulty.

well, it does put some limits on where you can make a checkpoint... this leads to the premise being undermined sometimes, but this isn't a really a flaw, as the game is still pretty generous.
the game also includes all the levels from the previous games in the series, so it's the perfect starting point! (there is some exclusive content in the other games, and it's always nice to support a dev, so if you end up liking love 3, perhaps consider purchasing them as well).
