Same Mario we all love coming with a turn-based platformer. I adore Mario and its entire universe. And I definitely can't say that this is a bad game. However, it definitely feels like something is missing but I don't know what.
it's a 1:1 remake of a 27 year old game and it shows, it's very dated, which is a problem with most nintendo remakes, seeing as how they're usually 1:1 instead of putting the extra effort to modernize these old games like Capcom and Square Enix remakes do.
