I'll start by saying I liked Xenoblade 2 better.
This is still a very good game, but there's a few things that kinda take away from it. It's obvious that they were finding their footing (a good footing I will mind) on what the Xenoblade franchise would be.
But after playing later Xenoblades, it's the weakest, combat isn't as intuitive, and is still kinda frustrating in the late game. The lore doesn't feel as fleshed out, and it doesn't have the wisdom (for lack of a better term) that 2 has. It's still a good game, but it left me with more questions than it resolved, and didn't have as many twists.
It also doesn't really give me a reason to come back like X or 2 does.
