My family got this game as part of a game pack that came with a Joystick for our Gateway 2000 computer! It is an open ended space sim that lets you either follow a story or just roam around traveling from planet to planet or to new systems completing missions. You could be a merchant, mercenary, or pirate. Your role was determined by your actions. There is an optional story line you can follow that is fun but not that long. Impressively the version of the game on CD came with Voice Acting, a feature you don't necessarily expect in a game this old. In the end I played this for 100s of hours and loved it. By today's standards it is probably a bit simple but it will run in DosBox. The game can be purchased from EA or GOG. I believe the version from GOG contains the expansion pack, which was like an archaic version of DLC that came on extra disks or a CD.
