Pros:
- it’s a sequel to breath of the wild
- ultra hand is amazing
Cons:
- it’s a sequel to breath of the wild
- the story is rather drab

Ultra hand was a blast the whole game. I loved the ways it increased my interaction with the game world. From the start of just helping keep signs up, to the end where I was crafting fantastical vehicles, ultra hand carries this game. The story is just an overall disappointment and worse than breath of the wild, which already had a weak story. The plot starts off promising and never really goes anywhere. The tarrey town quests about sending off Hudson’s daughter is the most interesting plot followed by the Hateno mayor quest line. I rolled my eyes when Zelda came back unharmed and link got his arm back. At the least the plot had the teeth to pose that A Zelda effectively died and B link lost his arm. But they had to walk it back last second.

For better or worse, this is a breath of the wild sequel. The things I would’ve preferred not come back like koroks and boring side quests came back. Seeing how the world had developed since BOTW was a treat though. The game ultimately disappointed me in its final hours. I was disappointed to find that the game has a similar grind at the end like breath of the wild. I grew tired of breath of the wild by the end. Going to fight ganon felt like releasing myself from being stuck playing the game as opposed to a triumphant end. It was the same here. I did all the main quests. I did all the shrines. I did all the wells. I looked at how much I had left to do to 100% the game and called it quits. I understand Nintendo’s aim to have a giant playground where every player has their own experiences. But it doesn’t work for me as well as something like a Bethesda or even Ubisoft style take on 100%. With Bethesda games it never feels like you’re working towards a percentage counter. With Ubisoft style games at least the percentage counter is reasonable to complete (at least their older games). With botw like games, it just becomes a drag.
