As someone who tends to keep away from any and all roguelikes (just not my genre sorry), this was a DAMN pleasant surprise. Thrilling exploration/investigations blended in with addicting turn-based combat makes for a gameplay loop I never mind going back through over and over, and the atmosphere the music and graphics create is tense and daunting in all the right ways.
