Playing RE2 from start to finish was a blast.
While Leon's story is focused in the zombie apocalypse and how to stop it, Claire's story is focused more on the characters and how it all happened and I adore this.

Inventory management in RE1 remaster was a pain to me because they gave you X amount of slots and every item was worth 1 slot. In re2, you have more slots but your guns usually take 2 or 3 slots, which makes it so taking these items are a very conscious decision.
Key items still take inventory slots, but they can atleast be discarded when you used them everywhere.

The map is incredibly helpful for a completionist run, letting you know EXACTLY if you missed a door, an item, a room, and how much of it you looted it.
The layout and level design of the entire game is just incredibly good. At first I really hated Mr. X because the zombies were enough of a hazard to me, but Mr. X is only in specific parts of the game so there was some thought put into it (both story, level and game design wise) which made me really love him.

The puzzles were simple, but simple doesn't necessarily mean bad.
The 2nd run scenario is also great as it remixes the entire game for the character you haven't played, that way you can enjoy the game a bit more. I don't know why I love this so much, maybe because it's like re-playing and being familiarized with everything but the key items so it really tests your ability of how well do you know the map and I find that incredibly fun.
