didn't really care that much about this pick when it was announced, picked up Dragon Quest XI because "hey, this new smash character is from this and Dragon Quest has a long legacy! i should try it!" and now Dragon Quest is my favourite series of video games out there. buying Smash Ultimate was worth it if only so it finally got me to play Dragon Quest. also Hero is the most fun DLC character they ever made

the love for Fatal Fury, KOF and all of SNK's other work shines so brilliantly in this inclusion. Such an incredible pick that was done so, so well.

although its nothing too crazy now, anyone from that time can tell you seeing Cloud get into Smash was nothing short of a miracle. i only wish Square treated him better.

idk, guys! i'm just not a big Banjo-Kazooie head! It's great for them to finally earn their place in this series, though.

bit too reliant on SF2 for representation, but it's cool he's here! it was nice seeing an actual fighting game in Smash, even if he got superseded since.

after so much time hoping they would just, conveniently ignore Xenoblade 2, my worst nightmare became reality. i hate Xenoblade forever and YOU ruined it
