This is the game that made Wedge Antilles, who has probably five lines of dialogue in Star Wars, my favorite character in the series. Wedge is just so cool. This game is just so cool. I don't know if there's a ton more to say than that. It's just a great space flight game with a ton of vehicles and levels.

I have particularly fond memories of the bonus levels and the weird extras. Why was there a Buick? I do not have fond memories of defending the medical frigate. Why did they bring that thing everywhere?

Later games arguably improved on the experience — 'Rebel Strike' added multiplayer, and 'Squadrons' looks drastically better, as it should — but this one just feels like everything you need and nothing you don't.

For Wedge fans: This game features voice acting from the orignal actor, Denis Lawson. The sequel does not, which sucks.
