Still brilliant, but it just doesn't quite hit the way DS1 does for me. The increase of action, and a chatty Isaac are fine, but it falls short of the original. I prefer it more like a haunted house.
Mind you, it's a real pleasure to get some use of the pulse rifle this time around. It actually functions as a gun, and not some pea shooter for annoying the necromorphs.

God I love how people who don't like this talk about it. From the outside you'd think it was some insanely transgressive thing. Gaming's "A Serbian Film". Some real visceral reactions.
It is merely some of the best "Brain off, number go up" fun I've had in ages. At times I thought it was gonnae crash from the amount of projectiles and effects layering the screen, slowing the framerate down to the teens, which made it even funnier and added to the daft power trip. Cost me like £2 and isnae trying to rinse me of my dosh through microtransactions. I don't see the problem.

Another game I'd never heard anyone mention, but saw sudden excitement when I said I would be streaming it. Screenshots had me thinking this was a point and click, but what a surprise to find out it's a classic survival horror. Just good campy fun with some brilliant over the top voice work.

Some real nonsense in here, but overall it's a pretty fun thing. The hammy voice acting is great, and there's a brilliant oppressive atmosphere through the whole house knowing that at any time a ghost can just come through a fucking wall.
Might be the hardest survival horror I've ever played simply due to the ghosts operating with their own set of rules, and having little regard for what you might consider "fair".
