I never played the original PS2 title but definitely want to at some point. With that said, this game was good if flawed. The beginning of the game really deceives you with the upgrades (or lack thereof) in the beginning meaning you need to get specific ones if you want to get past the beginning part of the game faster. Otherwise this really is like a Yakuza 0 expansion pack. The gameplay certainly lands and I enjoy the sub stories. The added scenes for Nishiki really do add a lot to his character and it makes me wish certain other parts of the story were touched up to be as good as those scenes. Regardless it's still a solid game. Just needed some more kinks to work out.
