I rewatched An American Tail today and thought it'd be an interesting experience to see how bad this game was......... I am not lying to you when I say this is quite possibly one of the worst games I've ever play, and if you know me and see all the god awful shit I've played, that is a truly damning claim. It's a game that you can finish in less than 25 minutes, it’s 6 levels that are comprised of minigames that look and play so poor they give NewGrounds games a run for their money, and overall is nothing more than a cash grab of shovelware that was only made to get a quick buck. Now here's the thing about it, I am infatuated by this game, not because I think it’s a game worth admiring hell no; but just the sheer lack of care or thought put into this, to me this is an epitome to bad video games. Being real no one actively wants to make a bad game, usually a bad game is made when it’s either giving short deadlines, lack of real creative output, or other unforeseeable consequences. That’s how you get stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 or a GTA Definitive Edition, or hell maybe even a Postal 3 (probably not but just go with it), but with this game I can guarantee you that none of that happened with this game. Rather, no one cared; this game is a poster child for the sheer unchecked greed and lack of talent that make games from studios like Data Design so fascinating. It's like watching a really bad movie like The Fanatic or Chopping Mall, where literally everything in it is broken from the base itself. This game is broken art; where art is driving my passion and creativity this game just revalse in the purest form of greed and mediocrity with little care to anything other than the bottom line. Maybe I’m talking out my ass here; but I am just fascinated with failed art and media like this.
