It could be better, honestly, so much better. But for the first full on 3D mainline entry into the franchise, it's pretty solid, in spite of its flaws. It's stupidly easy and the story SUCKS but it's fun to replay if you don't take it seriously. Latter point especially: just don't take this too seriously and treat it as a game to relax with, and it'll be a good time. It's also pretty nice to replay because of the sheer Pokemon variety it has. Pokemon Amie and multiplayer (if you're into that) are pretty awesome, and Mega Evolutions were a pretty cool addition.
