decided i'm gonna play the remade original trilogy instead of all the numbered entries and RE2 remake is easily my favourite of the three and probably my favourite RE game.

as of this playthrough i've played this game 6 times now since 2019 which is kind of crazy to me but i could honestly immediately jump back in. for me, this is the closest RE has come to perfection. yes the police station is still the peak of the game with the following areas not being as interesting but the following areas are the best in the series. the boss fights suck... there's no but there the boss fights are terrible, but none of the flaws in this game stop it from being the best in the series. the exploration of the police station is one of my favourite experiences that exist in the medium and just as things start to possibly get stale the game introduces mr x who forces you to plan and strategise creatively which keeps me engaged and immersed throughout the entire first half of the game. i've heard some claim he gets annoying and the scares wear off but after 6 playthroughs, i've never had that issue... although i am a huge wuss with horror games so keep that in mind.

i suppose i could be a bit biased, this was my first RE game and it doesn't take much for games to scare me. but after playing all the mainline RE games and building a (slightly) higher tolerance to horror games, this game stil reigns supreme

this is probably the greatest survival horror experience there is in the medium of video games and i love it to death
