This was a rough point in the game's life, while the story and raid (yes i will defend Levithan as a raid) were good the same cannot be said of the gameplay. it was a major step down, secondary ammo was non-existent leaving shotguns, fusions and snipers as heavy weapons. as result damage was far weaker and made PVE feel too slow, and that's not even mentioning we were slower in game, so slow we needed a "go fast update". I think leaving it on "we needed a go fast update" should tell you how this felt at launch.

Christ. Man parts of this expansion were just disappointing, especially having A WORM GOD KILLED IN SUCH A PATHETIC WAY; AS A STRIKE BOSS. however where that dropped the ball hard, Spire of Stars and Whisper picked up and tried carrying the weight of this expansion. While Spire was quite the challenge up until it was put in the content vault, it didn't have loot to match aside from an emote. While Whisper gave us a Taken version of Black Hammer from D1. However, trying to carry and actually doing it are two separate things

this was an absolutely terrible point in Destiny 2, Eververse was the endgame, Mercury was small as hell, we were farming goddamn public events to level up and Eater of Worlds a terrible raid lair with no aspirational loot
