From a game design standpoint it completely fails to fix any of the major issues from BOTW, instead choosing to build on top of a flawed foundation. But from an entertainment standpoint this game surpasses all others in its league with its unique mechanics. At the end of the day many of the flaws end up being forgotten and what remains is a good time.
If it ain't broke don't fix it seems to have been the motto of the developers seemingly opting to preserve what they build in 2018 rather than any meaningfully iteration. The story had its moments but was an over all let down, suffering from a massive ideas being shoved into too small of a space. It was an enjoyable experience, but hugely disappointing seeing what could have been.

Catching all the fish feels like hunting for Pokémon, and that core gameplay loop of fishing, selling and, repeating kept me coming back while the atmosphere, art style and sound design really enhanced the experience. I felt the story was serviceable but it ended rather abruptly with a twist I didn't see coming, mostly because it didn't make all too much sense.
