Where it Shines:
Humour - 8/10
Music - 9/10
Fun - 8/10

The Good:
This is just such a classic and was a pretty big deal growing up. To see Square and Nintendo team up and deliver this gem was just the perfect storm. It's too bad we never saw a proper sequel, but the remake coming out is pretty special too.
Basically this is just such a good entry point into JRPGs for casual fans, and it's just such a cute, fun, funny, charming game.
It also introduced some very wonderful elements like a choice based level up system and timed hits. Being able to play as Bowser is also just such a delight.

The Bad:
Many people may find the platforming annoying. It's very clunky at times.
Additionally, the difficulty in this game is pretty easy, which may put some people off.

Summary:
Just a fantastic game, one of the greatest JRPGs of all time, and one of my favourite games ever.

****note on my ratings:
half ⭐: hot trash garbage
⭐: below average, needs work
⭐⭐: average
⭐⭐⭐: pretty good
⭐⭐⭐⭐: excellent
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: all time favourite
half star ratings between those mean it's slightly better or worse than stated in this list.
