Very commendable of valve to give what is basically a tech demo for the steam deck this much personality, but outside of a few good gags, the writing just reminds me of portal in less of a neat callback way and more of a "hey remember that game we made that was really good and funny?" Despite that, I'd be dumb to advise against it especially if you have a steam deck since it's free and about 30 minutes.
