Not the best action RPG I've played, but it's a goddamn masterclass of a remake! Not only did Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura capture the gritty and bizarre first act of the original, but actually managed to fill it with density and surprise.

I will say, however, the one thing I didn't think was all that great was the combat. Sure, it's a hell of an improvement from Final Fantasy XV, but it still didn't feel right transitioning from a traditional JRPG. I give them props for trying though.

Overall, I am very impressed by Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I can't wait for more!
