I got this game on the fly during a Switch eShop sale, probably my favorite visual novel I've played so far, mainly due to the characters and setting, it's so silly and fun I can't help but love it.
basically you have 3 in game weeks to try and snag a date to prom, all while funny hijinks ensue along the way.
depending on how you like your humor it may or may not be your cup of tea, it's what I like to refer to as "Tumblr Humor", along with "Reference Humor", stuff like "Calculester's Shiny Metal Ass!", Polly mentioning a band called "Imagine a Fucking Dragon", that kinda stuff, I understand this kinda humor doesn't jell well with everyone but I feel it's totally my thing! I'm all for stupid Tumblr Humor (I say that as a compliment) and I can't get enough of it!
but on to the characters, I think my favorites are Zoe, an Eldritch Deity who loves Fandoms and Writing FanFiction! Polly, a ghost girl who loves partying, drugs and loud music! and Calculester, a sentient Computer who loves life, his friends and plants! (Calculester and Zoe are the ones you can see on the icon for the game here), honestly the whole cast of the game is just super fun.
Monster Prom XXL is by far the most enjoyment I've gotten playing a Visual Novel/Dating Sim, and I feel no shame in giving this weeaboo fandom trash 5/5 Stars, if you enjoy nonsensical games that can go off the rales with little logic and still be humorous and highly recommend giving this game a play!
