[7/7/24]

Yeah, I know it's still ongoing. But all the changes tend to drop at once so really all they'll add is more songs.

In regards to the icons headlining this season, how do you actually top this? It's fucking Metallica. There's their best songs in the game, all four of them are in the game with their instruments, there's a contrail that plays Ride The Lightning as you touch down onto the ground, there's a fucking Rocket Racing track that plays Fuel and is the only point-to-point track, holy SHIT. They even made a Creative map that doubled as a concert but it was pretty meh. Regardless, they put so much love into this collaboration and this is probably the most effort they'll ever put in.

In regards to the actual Festival mode, they fixed the strumming issue and finally added coyote time. This season also introduced the Battle Stage, a 16-man free-for-all mode where there are random songs chosen across 4 rounds until one guy is left standing. Players can attack each other. This is the main flaw with the mode. There's only one attack that cuts that targeted player's multiplyer in half and obscures the middle of the highway to make it harder to tell what notes are coming; it doesn't affect people who can see the knows where it isn't blurred. Also, you can't choose who to attack as it just targets the person one place above you. Naturally, this means you can't attack if you're in the lead. New means of fucking other people over would improve the mode, but as it stands, it's a little too chaotic and doesn't pose much of a threat to good players who know the charts. The high player count is the biggest problem in balancing this.

This is easily the best season so far, and I hate to say it, but I think Fortnite Festival peaked here. An icon choice that harkens back to the games Festival is based off of with tons of stuff from them and a PvP is the type of stuff Festival needed. Thank god I bought a Wii Guitar Hero guitar and an adapter. I'm gonna rock out like it's 2007.
