Night in the Woods is a very touching and beautiful game. I used to live in a city in Indiana, so I was very close to the story of a dying town. Mae walking around and remembering how everyone left possum springs reminds me of how my friends left my old city, until I also left. Walking around town and listening to all their stories really makes someone feel helpless in this world with so many connections to our world today. I often teared up whenever hanging out with Bea. Thankfully the game has an optimistic message as the gang stand united to combat the system. The themes and the characters of the game are probably the best things about it. The politics are actually quite interesting as I did not expect the game to be this left wing. I might be biased, but I like it. I really like Jacob Geller's video about the game on YouTube, and you guys should watch it too. I The story was a little confusing and I still don't quite understand it, but I think it was alright, if not a bit slow in the beginning. Really, I just kind of wished the game was more focused and tight. I really would have preferred a more linear format instead of being able to jump all around town. That is what keeps it at a 4 for me. This game is pretty great if you take time with it.
