Wow this game was awesome. I was a pretty big fan of Undertale when I played it a couple months ago, but I held off on playing Deltarune immediately afterwards because it wasn't on Xbox and I wanted to wait for the other chapters to release first. Now, my Xbox One is broken (pls Microsoft give me Series X!) and Toby released Chapter 2, so I decided to play Deltarune Part 1 on my Nintendo Switch.

This game is phenomenal. Very derivative of Undertale, but that's not a bad thing, and the characters and the story and the battles are distinct enough for it to not seem like a total reskin. The characters and story are so fucking good. Susie and Lancer almost made me cry it was so wholesome and Kris scares me now. How did she impale herself like that? She should really cut her nails sometime.

I honestly related to Kris' life very much. I am heading to college soon, and I have a little brother, so watching Kris wander around feeling lonely really made me feel bad. Everywhere she went, people talked about how awesome Asriel was, and almost nobody talked about Kris directly, so I think Kris is living in Asriel's shadow, which I hope doesn't happen for my little brother. Also Sans Undertale- I mean Sans Deltarune. Watching Susie and Lancer become friends teared me up as Susie opened up more, and I was spoiled by Ralsei being Asriel, but it was a nice reveal nonetheless.

I currently have Deltarune Chapter 2 installed on my Mac (not on Switch yet) so I will definitely be playing it next. If the game keeps up like this, honestly, I think the characters and story will put it above Undertale for me, but I'll have to wait for all the chapters to release, which will probably take 5 years at this point lol.
