Sniper Elite 5 is basically World War 2 Hitman if it was less about hitmanning and more about fighting omnipotent fascists.

It's a decent, short experience that had me hooked in the first few levels. I felt like I had agency in how I attacked compounds and infiltrated enemy lines with a plethora of weapons and devices at my side, but as the game went on I felt like I was being severely penalized for not playing to the exact degree the game had wanted. I attempted heavy stealth throughout the game but was frequently impeded by enemies just out of my sight that could hear my gunfire, or see me take action, again and again and again. Save scumming was a decent remedy for this in some levels, but missions six, seven, and eight had enemies ad nauseum that would seemingly float in out of nowhere if I took any action to neutralize a target. The gameplay in combat and sneaking was overall very fun, but the mission structure later on and pretty awful voice acting/character design makes this a fairly forgettable experience.
