The game, “Nothing” provides players with an intricate tapestry that interconnects values of existentialism and postmodern views. At first glance, the game may seem like a practice of nihilism. Deeper scrutiny, however, imparts a sagacious reflection of societal values, as it acts as a mirror for disillusionment of societal norms. An absence of pre-established objectives possibly demonstrates skepticism towards meta-narratives and overarching ideologies that dominate the gaming industry. The game exists as a critique of the consumerist culture that exists in our society and serves as a discussion of the societal imperatives of productivity and engagement.
