I loved Cosmo D's other games but I was worried that this game would be just a RNGfest that'd miss why the other games were rad and, yeah I was right. I'm glad this isn't going to be the series going forward because the dice mechanics are just not engaging at all and its way too easy to screw yourself on Normal. There are easier difficulties, mind you, but I just don't find the mechanics good to begin with so why would I bother?

Just pass unless you're really into heavy dice roll mechanics.

Harsh, I have bad news for you though, Tales From Off Peak City Vol 2 (or whatever the next one will end up being called) will have the dice mechanics integrated into the walking sim gameplay, as per Cosmo D's own discord publications

Interesting to see you felt that way about it even though you have Disco Elysium in your top 5. I loved Disco Elysium as well but I got screwed on RNG in that game waaaay more than in Club Low. It legit took me 6 tries to shoot the body down from the tree and I almost rage quit and proceeded to save scum the rest of the game. The pizza dice and condition dice in club low were constantly pushing me to win in crazy scenarios and even when I lost rolls interesting stuff happened that kept me from ever being upset about it. This way my favorite rendition of dice based gameplay in any game I've played so far.
The more oppressive systems in Disco do fit with the setting better which is why I still rate it high but I just had way more fun with the antics and craziness of club low. I played on the adventure difficulty which I think was 3rd from the lowest?

Disco usually tends to give a bunch of pluses to die rolls if you just explore enough and even if you fail they usually still have fun outcomes. Club Low is more like a rogue-like so it just felt more punishing to me and not as engaging.
