This one really stings honestly...
So I gave it a 4/5 because I genuinely feel like it may be one of, if not the greatest remaster ever made. With that being said, I thought I was going to adore this game after seeing all the remastered elements of it and liking Final Fantasy VII Remake enough to follow the story forward... But I honestly hated it and I played it too long to refund it :(
Everything about it is awesome, the visuals, the gameplay, the corny script, the voice actors from Remake... But when all of those things were put together, it just felt like such a disjointed mess and may have been the most horribly paced video game experience I've ever had. This is mostly simply because despite everything being VERY overhauled from the ground up, the core loop and pacing is identical to the original.
I'm happy fans of the original got such an awesome remaster, but I personally unfortunately just can't push myself to play through it.
