Unlike its VASTLY superior sequel, most of the ‘mysteries’ in this game aren’t actually good. It’s literally just characters fucking around with you and making the seemingly straightforward cases as convoluted as possible for no real reason other than the writer is too lazy to write a proper one. In the second trial, a character LITERALLY decides to fucking alter the crime scene because he thought, and I quote: “ it would make things more interesting”.

Or in the first trail, a character writes the name of a person who killed her, but because it’s upside down, nobody realizes!

It gets a 6 because I liked the absurd nature of the game and how over the top it was. I also liked how it poked fun at itself a lot, but besides the 4th case, all the mysteries made no sense. Skip to the second game if you want good mysteries.
