Resident Evil Village is two games. One is a clever, frightening horror game that evokes the best titles of the series. The other is a mediocre first-person shooter with some interesting boss fights. The schlock gets exhausting by the last hour of the game, to a point that killed my motivation to replay it. Also, the story is incomprehensible mess, but that’s expected at this point.
