The selling point was that you could create big armies and participate in massive battles (like the Total War series) and build the base at the same time. It has a character and its own unique aesthetic.
Due to today's context, I think this game should get a bigger praise - since it's a Ukrainian game and the cover of this game perfectly depicts the Ukrainian spirit: these cossacks are writing a letter to a local Tzar and saying fuck off in a humorous form. Basically what Ukrainians do now with Putin and his army.
