Milktoast Kart 7.

It's far from bad but it just lacks any and all personality. It's the only one in the series that I feel lacks it's own identity. But hey it controls great the new tracks are pretty good and it has the best retro course selection before MK8 Deluxe so like, I feel a bit bad bitching about it.

Strongly disagree with the game lacking its own identity. It introduced several major additions to the series that either remained in 7 (first-person mode) or define most of 8 (everything else)
@JCLKaytwo nahhh. If 8 didn't have underwater/gliding/kart customization stuff then 7 would feel more unique. Since 8 did everything better, it leaves little reason to go back to 7.

Also first-person mode sucks lol I wouldn't call it a "major" addition but to each their own.

@andrewsgameblog Well 8 doing everything better than 7 doesn't mean we should should completely disregard the fact that all of those things originated in 7 in the first place. In terms of sheer gameplay and track design, 7 was arguably one of the biggest shakeups in the entire series.

(Let's also not forget that 7 was also the originator of 1-lap tracks and crossover tracks. 7 really set the groundwork for 8 and that is something that should be more appreciated)
