I'm sure part of my sentiment for this game is based in being the sega kid at school, but honestly I do think that Sega's blue skies in their arcade games have such a dramatic effect on their games and you can see that most prominently in Virtua Racing. It's the most primitive of their racing games and the least kinetic and wacky, but the sense of place and speed are still immaculate. There's still Something There that feels alive to me.
